Metal Building Insulation

Product Overview

Metal Building Insulation is often used to provide a thermal and acoustical barrier in the roof and walls of existing and new metal building structures, such as garages, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. It’s also serves as a no-maintenance alternative to drywall. This specialty insulation is manufactured by Owens Corning®, Johns Manville, Knauf and CertainTeed. The insulation is then layered with a protective surface facing, often manufactured by Lamtec Corp. FSK, PSK, and ASJ type facings are among the most popular. (Other facing types are listed below.) Choose the R-Value:

R-10 to R-30 with a 3-3/8” to 9-1/4” blanket thickness (based on the R-Value).

Choose the Facing

Polypropylene on one side; natural kraft paper backing on the other side. Uses: Typical applications that do not require heavy facing. Excellent for a chemically hostile environment.

Polypropylene on one side; metallized polyester backing on the other side. Uses: Provides an even better permeability than WMP-VR. Also available: WMP-VR-R PLUS.

White-coated, premium heavy duty aluminum facing with added UV resistance.
 

Polypropylene on one side; white kraft paper backing on the other side. Uses: For walls that are exposed to light or moderate traffic.

Metallized polypropylene on one side; natural kraft pa- per backing on the other side. Uses: For walls that require improved strength and appearance.

Polypropylene on one side; metallized polyester backing on the other side. Twice as strong as WMP-VR-R. Uses: For walls that are exposed to heavy traffic.

FSK (foil-scrim-kraft) facing designed for heavy duty applications.

Polypropylene on one side; polyester ber backing on the other side. Uses: sporting facilities and heavy traf c areas.

High impact and tear-resistant facing. Ideal for use in sports facilities.

Double-sided aluminum foil facing with tear resistance. Ideal for use in sports facilities.

Black matte nish polypropylene on one side; natural kraft paper or metallized polyester backing on the other side. Uses: A viable, more cost-ef cient alternative to painting.

Available Lengths

Metal building insulation typically comes in 25 foot to 100 foot rolls. The length is based on the job’s total square footage.
